CState hosts Naturalization Ceremony today

Cincinnati State will host a Naturalization Ceremony today, May 20, starting at 1 p.m. in the Main Building Conference Center.

About 60 new U.S. citizens and their family members are expected at the ceremony, which is open to the public.

From 2004 through 2019, Cincinnati State was the host location for a Naturalization Ceremony each year. Ceremonies were suspended in 2020 and 2021 because of the pandemic.

College network outage on May 22; log-in may look different for a few weeks

As part of the IT Modernization project, new network equipment (servers, storage, and switches) will be installed on Sunday, May 22, between 3 a.m. and 3 p.m.

  • Some networks services, listed below, will not be available during the maintenance period.
     
  • MyCState/Blackboard, MyServices, College Email, and Self-services will remain accessible on Sunday.

Starting at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, and continuing for several weeks, you may see a slightly different login screen when you access Office 365. The change in the login screen is related to ongoing activities of the IT Modernization project.

  • The current login screen (below) includes places to enter your user name and password on the same screen:

  • The new login screen (below) includes a place to enter your user name. You'll then move to a second screen to enter your password.

Systems that will be offline during the maintenance period (3 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday) are:

I-75 / I-74 Construction Update - May 20-22

The Interstate 75/I-74 major reconstruction project has scheduled some evening and overnight restrictions starting Friday, May 20.

Friday, May 20:

  • Single-lane closure on I-74 West from I-75 North to Colerain Avenue, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Saturday, May 21.
  • Closure of the ramp from I-75 South to I-74 West, between 11 p.m. and 4 a.m. Saturday. Traffic will be detoured by way of the Hopple Street interchange./li>
  • Closure of the ramp from I-74 West to Beekman Street, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Saturday.
  • Single-lane closure on I-75 South, between Mitchell Avenue and Hopple Street, from 8 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday.
  • Single-lane closure on I-75 North, between Hopple Street and the Ludlow Avenue overpass, from 8 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Sunday, May 22.
  • Closure of the ramp from I-74 East to I-75 North, between 9 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Monday, May 23. Traffic will be detoured by way of the Hopple Street interchange.

Sunday, May 22:

  • Single-lane closure on I-74 West from I-75 North to Colerain Avenue, between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. Monday, May 23. 
  • Closure of the ramp from I-74 West to Beekman Street, between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday. 
  • Single-lane closure on I-75 South, between Mitchell Avenue and Hopple Street, from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday.

All scheduled work is contingent upon weather.

To help ensure the safety of construction workers and the traveling public, motorists should remain alert, reduce their speed, and watch for stopped traffic while passing through the work zones.
